Gantt Candies - Chamber Member of the Week

Congratulations, Gantt Candies, for being chosen as Chamber Member of the Week!

Gantt Candies is owned by Sonny and Nancy Gantt (pictured left).  When Sonny was younger, he made peanut brittle with his father.  He then spent years without making peanut brittle because he could not find the recipes.  Sonny eventually started experimenting with making peanut brittle and it was a success.  A friend of his began asking him to make some peanut brittle because she knew he used to make it with his father. Shortly after, Sonny took his peanut brittle to the county fair and won the blue ribbon.

About a year later in 1992, Sonny decided to start his own business, Gantt Candies.  They sell a number of different candies including peanut brittle (the most popular), almond brittle, pecan brittle, glazed pecans, pralines, chocolate delights, caramel walnuts, truffles, and chocolate-covered anything.  Basically, if you love sweets, their candy is perfect for you!

The Gantt's make their candy in their "little candy house" in their backyard; however, they package and sell their candies at locations all over Selma.  You can find their candy at Mark's Mart, Carter Drug Co., Swift Drug Co., and sometimes at the Flower Basket and Black Belt Treasures.

Gantt Candies fills orders from brides throughout the year and corporate orders around Christmas.  Their candy has even been given out at Butler Truax Jewelers during Valentine's Day.  Their business is a "Selma favorite" as noted in the September 2012 edition of Black Belt Living Magazine.

This sweet couple had such wonderful words to say about the Chamber of Commerce.  Their favorite part of the Chamber is its efforts in moving Selma forward.  They joined the Chamber because they like what the Chamber does and how they support Selma's businesses.
"They encourage you to shop Selma, support Selma. The people are wonderful and outgoing." -Nancy Gantt

If you're planning on giving someone a candy basket in the future (or even if you just want a bag for yourself), I highly recommend ordering from Gantt Candies.

The Gantt's would definitely recommend Chamber membership to anyone that is not already a member.  To become a member of the Chamber of Commerce,
